Alabama is heading into a new era of its football program with new head coach Kalen Deboer, so it’s now time for schools who could hardly beat the Crimson Tide the past two decades a chance to claim victory and one SEC team who struggled against Alabama the last 15 years may be able to take them out once again.
Tennessee and Alabama are two of the best rivalries in college football, always played on the third Saturday in October. Before 2022, the Crimson Tide had won every matchup since 2006, mainly because one school had Nick Saban as their head coach and the other didn’t. With Saban now out, Tennessee has the chance to take control of the rivalry, and one sports analyst thinks it could happen.
Outkick founder and Fox Sports analyst Clay Travis appeared on the Next Round Sports Show and stated, ” I think Tennessee’s going to beat Alabama by double digits in Knoxville.”

Travis is a known Volunteers fan, so it’s not shocking he would pick his team to win, but he does have a great point.
When the greatest coach in college football history leaves your program, you will take a step back, which will happen to the Crimson Tide this season. Who knows how many games they will lose, but they aren’t going 12-0 in the regular season and could be a team that gets knocked off a handful of times.
