Magic Johnson reveals Mavericks’ ‘unsung hero’ in crazy Game 6 win vs. Thunder

The Dallas Mavericks took down the Oklahoma City Thunder in game six on Saturday night, and they are now headed to the Western Conference Finals. The Thunder were the one seed in the West, but they are now done before the conference finals. Game six was a thriller as the Thunder had a big lead in the second half before the Mavericks came back and made it close for the final stretch. Oklahoma City took a one-point lead late, but P.J. Washington ended up sinking the game-winning free throws with two seconds left in the game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers in the game with 36 points, but he had a very costly foul in the final seconds. It was controversial, and it did get reviewed, but the play stood. Gilgeous-Alexander fouled P.J. Washington on a three, and Washington made the first two shots then purposefully missed the third. The Thunder missed a long heave at the buzzer, and the Mavericks won the game. Great game for Gilgeous-Alexander, but a tough way for it to end.

Washington had just nine points in the game, but he was incredibly clutch in the late stages. He hit two big threes, and then he obviously had the game-winning free throws. Magic Johnson was watching the game closely, and he thinks that Washington was the unsung hero of the game for the Mavericks.

“PJ Washington is the unsung hero of tonight’s game!” Magic Johnson said in a tweet.

The fourth quarter was a big one for Washington, and he is a big reason why the Mavericks are moving on to the Western Conference Finals.

Magic Johnson had his eyes on this game all night, and he had a lot to say about it after the game. It was a great battle, and if you didn’t see it, you missed out.

What a game! UNBELIEVABLE finish!! The Dallas Mavericks win 117-116 vs. OKC,” Johnson said. “If you missed this game, you have to watch the fourth quarter – just phenomenal basketball!”

Johnson is right, it was a terrific basketball game, and the Mavericks are now moving on to the next round. Johnson congratulated the team on their big win.

Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks for advancing to the Western Conference Finals!” Johnson said.

The Mavericks were the five seed in the West, but they are now going to be one of just two teams alive as they are one series win away from going to the NBA Finals. They play either the Denver Nuggets or the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals.

Game seven between the Nuggets and the Timberwolves will be on Sunday. That series has been a great one, and no matter who wins, the Western Conference Finals will be great.

Dallas will be watching on Sunday to see who they get in the next round. We are getting closer and closer to the NBA Finals.
