Next weekend, Mammoth Mountain, CA, is hosting a Boarding For Breast Cancer event, 'Love Your Peaks;, to raise money for breast cancer awareness and prevention.

These events happen at ski resorts across the country, and this winter, have included locations such as Killington in Vermont and Dodge Ridge in California.

Love Your Peaks is a fundraising series promoting breast cancer awareness at resorts nationwide, where participants can join the organization at partnering resorts to fundraise, ride/ski and advocate for breast cancer awareness.

Boarding for Breast Cancer, established in 1996, "empowers young people to make positive choices that promote lifelong wellness through grassroots events, educational outreach, sustainability, and survivorship support programs."

The schedule of events next weekend at Mammoth has a lot packed in: the Slush Magazine World Quarter Finals on Friday, May 3rd, followed by the Slalom Check-in and bib handout from 3:30PM-5:30pm on Saturday, May 4th, as well as a Party in the Park from 5PM-7:30pm. On Sunday, the actual Slalom Race goes down from 10am to 1pm, with a Tribute Ride at 1:30pm and the awards at 2pm. There will also be a raffle and auction happening at 2:30pm.

The slalom race allows for participants to take 2 laps on the course between 10am and 1pm for a combined time as the final score. The skier with the fastest time wins the prize--and bragging rights--until next year.

The race categories include:

12& Under / Boys / Girls / Ski / Snowboard

13-20 Mens / Womens / Ski / Snowboard

21+ / Mens / Womens / Ski / Snowboard

Masters 45+ Mens / Womens / Ski / Snowboard

Register online by Saturday, May 4 at 3pm to compete. Registration is $25 and includes a B4BC gift pack. Space is limited to 150 people.

If you can go, it's a perfect opportunity to enjoy spring skiing with other fun-loving and breast-cancer-awareness-supporting skiers. Or snowboarders, for that matter!
