Report claims Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Liverpool star

With Toni Kroos and Luka Modric both coming towards the end of their respective careers, Real Madrid could be considering possible successors for the future. Although they are looking more likely to remain for another 12 months, Los Blancos look to have started considering their options in the long run.

According to a report from DirectvSports (via CaughtOffside), Real Madrid are keeping an eye on Liverpool and Argentina star Alexis Mac Allister, who has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season.

It’s likely that if Los Blancos are considering Mac Allister, then it will be as a successor for either Kroos or Modric, meaning that they won’t pursue a deal this summer if both players sign a contract extension in the coming weeks.

At 25, Mac Allister still has his best years ahead of him, and he could be a shrewd addition to the Real Madrid squad. However, it would be a surprise if other options weren’t higher up the list, considering the expected asking price that Liverpool would demand.
